So I just realized it's been almost a year since I posted a journal entry...that's really bad of me.
I know I could just repost all of my other journal/bulletin stuff into a journal entry, but I'd like to keep this about my artwork for the most part.
So projects:
-HL2-
I'm working on a wearable fabrication of the Half-Life 2 H.E.V. Suit that Gordon Freeman wears. The hard armor plates are being created using 3d models unfolded with Pepakura2 into workable pieces, then assembled with #110 Cardstock that will be resined, fiberglassed and then painted. In addition I'll be creating the soft undersuit using spacer spandex, and craft foam. Since this is my main project, expect the most frequent updates on this. You can also follow my progress in more detail at:

This project is still in the recreation and replanning stage. While I have a completed Dante costume, I lack a good Alastor and Ebony & Ivory. In addition, some of the materials I used in the original costume need replacement, as they're created of that low-quality vinyl with the fuzzy matted backing. I will be replacing those sections with a higher quality marine vinyl, which has a tougher woven backing. The E&I guns are still in the pepakura stage, as I need to reunfold them to make them a simpler build. Alastor will need to be scratch-created, which I'm still unsure how I'm going to do that. I might also make the double-barreled shotgun, but that's 4th or later priority for this project.
-Halo 3: ODST-
With the new Halo game coming up, as well as several large conventions, I am trying to get an ODST suit completed. For those of you unfamiliar, ODST stands for Orbital Drop Shock Troopers, and are the Halo equivalent of paratroopers. Unlike Master Chief, they don't wear full armor, but rather a cut down version that allows for greater mobility and stealth. I currently possess all the unfolded pepakura files for this project, and have actually begun to print them out. I'm using my simpler HL2 build (see above) to ensure I have all the kinks in my build technique worked out before I attempt this more complex and customized build.
-Steampunk Pistol-
Working this week on modifying a 1:1 Airsoft M16 with a broken motor into a steampunk raygun with my roomate. He will be wearing it to animix this weekend, so I'm really excited to have my work displayed. I'll be posting several shots of the prop once it's completed, so expect those before the end of the week.
-Other Projects-
Trying to write more, do some more color jobs, etc, etc, but nothing really exciting.
-All Else-
Still jobless. Almost 2 months now >.< Had a promising lead to work for NCSoft on their new MMOG Aion, but that fell through. Still have out a couple of resumes to work with them on Lineage 2 or possibly as an Aion GM, but it's up in the air. Interviewed with Half-Price Books today as well, I think they were very impressed with me, if not for my resume, then for my on-hand knowledge of books, movies and other media. Hopefully they'll call me Friday or Monday to let me know I'm hired.
That's it for now.
